The European Democratic Party has chosen Guy Verhofstadt, former Belgian Prime Minister and current leader of the ALDE group in the European Parliament, as its candidate for the European Commission Presidency. The Young Democrats for Europe supports this decision.

European issues at a local level

A new Youth Employment Policy for Europe!

Youth_Employment_PolicyOn Saturday,  November 16th and Sunday, 17th, Jeunes Démocrates and Jeunes Forces Démocrates welcomed delegations from Young Democrats for Europe (youth organisation of the European Democratic Party) for a “working weekend” on Youth Employment and Europe, only a few days after an international summit in Paris which brought together European Heads of State and Government on the same topic.

Future for Equity and Equality

On 20 September 2013 in Bratislava, we organized the international conference with the title “What is the future for equity and equality?”. At the conference, you could meet not only us but also our partners from Slovakia, Cyprus, France, San Marino and Italy. The conference was organized with the financial support of the European Parliament and under the auspices of the international organization Young Democrats for Europe. We were discussing and trying to find solutions on various crucial topics and issues, which included:

1. Importance of the engagement of young people in the political parties at the European level
2. Promotion of equal but equitable opportunities for the disadvantaged groups
3. Reinforcement of the involvement of youth in the public life at the local and national level

 On September 19th and 20th representatives of our youth organisation partners visited Bratislava and Slovakia for the first time, they were from different parts of Europe.

 Civil association, Young Europeans is committed to the Slovak European Democratic Party, a member of European Democratic Party (EDP-PDE, the ALDE Group in the European Parliament) and not only for its history but also for sharing pro-European values. Thanks to  the financial support from EDP, for several years young people can have meeting with another people from more than 7 European member states, exchange mutual experiences and information, organise common projects to support the spread of democracy development and the deepening of European identity in order to eliminate hatred and national discriminations, break down the fear of unknown and help all young Europeans to understand that it is not possible to lose their own identity while respecting the rights, values, traditions and habits of other people.
